Pictured here is a chumby (on the left)
The Chumby is a smart alarm clock made by Andrew 'bunnie' Huang in the mid to late 2000s. The chumby is essentially a tiny linux kiosk, which offers a platform for running ambient widgets, alongside typical alarm clock functionality, (mostly alarms)
I have big plans for my chumby, which has been zurked. I intend to use my chumby as the heart of a home automation setup, reading me my days tasks off of ticktick, pulling news headlines from the NYT, as well as the weather and the date.
